WE ARE ALAMO AREA AIKIKAI
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching the traditional Japanese martial art Aikido. We strive to enrich lives through the practice of the cooperative art of Aikido, a non-competitive, nonviolent form of conflict resolution. Our mission includes providing quality Aikido instruction in a safe and inclusive environment. Our vision is to provide a space that allows students and their families and friends to gather together for enrichment through the cultural exchange of practicing a Japanese martial art.
FULL CLASS SCHEDULE FOR AIKIDO COMING SOON!
Join us once we secure and build out a permanent space for Alamo Area Aikikai. Your donation gets us closer to our goal of providing a full schedule of classes for children ages 5-12, for teens 13-17, and adults over age 18. We will also be developing and offering programs and workshops for people with adaptive needs and conditioning focus groups for injury prevention from falls and self defense and awareness techniques for non-martial artists.
Our Team.
Our instructors are certified with the United States Aikido Federation and have collectively taught hundreds of students in varying platforms and venues since 2015. We aim to build and maintain an inclusive, diverse, and supportive community with a focus on personal growth experiences. While Aikido is noncompetitive, we believe in fostering all levels of rigor and quality of practice. Some classes are designated for the higher levels of training, just as some are designed with a more fragile population in mind. We believe the practice of Aikido should be accessible to everyone.
